Capri in one day

Italy, ah Italy, i just love it. The food, the people, the noise on the street, the feeling you have there, like you're part of one big, noisy family. So many places to be seen, so much food to be tasted, so much words to be said. It's all about and only about Capri - one of the treasures of the Amalfi coast. Amazing piece of heaven, unforgettable, incomparable, divine and cozy. To reach it, I took the ferry from Sorrento. It takes 25 - 30 min and cost around 37 euro go and back, as the ticket for the way back is open. You can take the boat back at any time you want. It's better to catch one of the earliest boats, to avoid the crowd. There are enough ferry companies, so no worries, you can catch the ferry at any time. If you use the app Rome2rio, you can find all the companies and time tables. The boats depart from Marina Grande.

After the boarding comes the most enjoyable part. The area is heavenly beautiful. The sun is in your eyes, the wind in your hair, the air fills our lungs withe sea aroma. If you are lucky to grab a seat on the outer seat line, you'll enjoy the view on max.

So, here it comes - Capri.

On arrival at the port Marina Grande, you can decide how to spend the day. You're crashing on travel kiosks, offering half or full day boat tours around the island, with options to visit the water caves, like Grotta Blu, or the Blue Grotto, Grotta Verde and, some of the most spectacular bays. The prices are reasonable.
I prefered to trust my instincts and to explore the Island by my own way. So, i passed the crowds and took the small quiet paths Phoenician Steps, towards the top of the Island. The morning was hot and silent. It's amazing how few steps can change the noise and the little chaos at the harbor, with the silent. You can only hear the birds singing and some early local Italians, talking temperamentally.
It was such a pleasure to climb slowly up, passing along the houses and the enjoying the view of the harbor revealing behind me.

The stone stairs slowly leads you up and up, passing through the forest, giving you chance to chill out for a while under the shadows.

After Climbing up the steps, you're on the main road and from there to Villa San Michele, then following the main street you're among the nice, cozy restaurants and coffees, inviting you souvenir shops and wonderful hotels.

It's worth to spend some time, following the streets, soaking the atmosphere of the place. Check the shops, talk with the locals or take a cup of coffee with the famous Italian aroma and intense taste. Next stop is Seggiovia di Monte Solaro.

The chair lift brings you to the top - one of the pleasant experiences. The ride is nice and takes around 30 min, 11 euro go and back. The lift is climbing up slowly, making you feel flying over the local's houses. It's wonderful feeling.

Up and up, waving your legs in the air, listening the birds, and spying the people under you're reaching the top, Monte Solaro.

Finally on the top. Stunning view. Amazing place.

Great spot for making break with refreshing drink or one more morning coffee. The place itself is not that big, you can find a snacks an beverages at the restaurant, ice cream and so on. The most amazing thing there is the view.

To be continued ....
